Last Thursday, on May 15th, I donned my cap and gown (just like in all of those American movies) and walked across the stage at Neal Blaisedell Center to receive a diploma from President Bannister. After 3 years in Hawaii, and two years as a master’s student at Hawaii Pacific University, I am finally done.
It feels bittersweet, exciting and terrifying all at once, and for the first time in a long time I am facing summer without any ideas about what I am doing once the summer vacation is over. I have plans, of course, but nothing is set in stone yet, and that scares me as much as anything else. What will the future hold? What will I be doing with my life? Where will I be 10 years from now? I have dreams, hopes and a wide variety of plans, but right now it’s all up in the air, and when the dust settles I will hopefully find that I’ve chosen the right path.
But for now I will enjoy the suspense of not knowing, and live the last 10 days on this island of mine as though they were my last. They certainly will be my last in Hawaii in a long time, but hopefully I will find my way back, sooner rather than later! Mahalo nui loa for 3 amazing years, HPU!
Congratulations!! That is wonderful, totally love your hat and all the flower wreaths you are wearing :)

Cheyenne: The flower leis were my favorite part of graduating from a Hawaiian university. They itched a lot during the ceremony though! ;)
Awesome! Congratulations! And by the way, you’ll be fine. Just have a little faith :)
Mahalo, Osina! I really hope everything will turn out great, just got to work hard and aim for my goals!
Congratulations Sweetie! Wishing you success and all the happiness in the world!

Thank you, Paula! I wish the same to you! :)
