After three weeks of travel, homework, visits and life in general I was finally scheduled for one full day of absolutely no plans. I was finally going to open the windows, let it some fresh air, put on some music and do some spring cleaning.
Yesterday started out nice, with some The Doors on the speakers and fresh soap in a bucket. And then I hit my head on the edge of the open window, nearly fainted, touched the back of my head and found blood. Thus my one free day was replaced with 3 hours in the emergency room and 4 stitches with a surgical stapler, and then the rest of the afternoon on the bed half-asleep trying to numb the pain with ice cream and pain killers. Oh, the irony.
With the stubbornness and stupidity normally associated with men in comedy shows, I decided to drag myself to my morning lecture today, mostly because I’m not good at the concept of bed rest (it can drive a sane person crazy) and also because Korean professors expect you to show up for class no matter what. I was rewarded with nausea, head aches and dizziness, and another visit to the hospital to be told that I had a concussion. Which means that I am currently on mandatory bed rest for the remainder of the weekend, and after 5 hours I am already going batshit crazy. Currently listening to Alanis Morissette’s Ironic to fully appreciate the entirety of this situation.
Moral of the story: Never clean your own apartment. Hire a professional!
It always turns out that way, doesn’t it? I hope you will feel better soon!
Thank you! Stitches are out, so all I have left is a scar that no one can see. Feeling great!
